Taking time off can make a world of difference for your overall well-being and productivity. MarketAxess offers benefits that allow you time to relax, recover, care for family members, honor personal commitments, and more.

Vacation days

MarketAxess provides eligible employees with paid vacation time for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits. Vacation time accrues monthly and is prorated at the time of hire and termination. The maximum amount of paid vacation time you are eligible for is based on two factors:

  1. Your tenure as a full-time employee of MarketAxess, and 
  2. Your relevant work experience, if any, prior to joining MarketAxess.

Did you know?

You can carry over up to five vacation days to the next year. The unused days will carry over as personal days and can be used during the entire next year.

Personal days

In addition to your vacation days, you will receive five personal days each year. This time can be used for unexpected personal situations requiring time off. Personal days are not paid out if unused or upon termination.

Charity days

We support our employees to give back and take advantage of the two paid days off each year to volunteer with an organization of your choice.

Sick days

Even the most health-conscious people get sick sometimes. When that happens, you can count on MarketAxess to allow you time to rest, recover or receive treatment.

  • Sick days – All regular US full-time employees are eligible for a maximum of 7 paid sick days in a calendar year. California employees should consult the California employee handbook supplement for information about sick leave benefits and eligibility. You can access this handbook by logging in to OKTA to access UKG and selecting Myself > Documents Acknowledged. 
  • Short-term disability – Employees needing more time can transition to short-term disability (STD) coverage. Benefits begin after 7 days of disability and can continue for up to 13 weeks.
  • Long-term disability – For longer illnesses or injuries, long-term disability (LTD) coverage provides benefits after you have been disabled for 13 weeks.

Bereavement days

In the unfortunate event of the death of a family member, you may take up to 5 days of paid time off for bereavement, depending on the deceased’s relation to you. For more information about time off and leaves of absence, please refer to the US Employee Handbook.

Service Recognition Days

Service Recognition Days, formerly known as Augmented Leave, recognizes your milestones in service with MarketAxess by giving you additional paid time off. Here’s how it works.

Extra vacation time for milestone anniversaries
We appreciate your loyalty and years of contributions to MarketAxess.  We want to celebrate your milestone service anniversaries by providing two extra weeks of vacation during the calendar year in which you reach your five-year (or multiple of five) anniversary with MarketAxess. 

When it must be used
When you receive Service Recognition Days, you will have 15 months from your triggering anniversary date to take the additional two weeks of vacation. The extra vacation time must be taken during the 15-month window and cannot be postponed unless approved by management and Human Resources. 

If you leave the Company
If your employment with MarketAxess ends for any reason before you take the additional time off, that time is not accounted for in the unused, accrued vacation payout, unless prohibited by state law. Time off cannot be substituted for cash payment.
