Certain life events can affect your MarketAxess benefits. See what actions to take and what to keep in mind as you navigate life’s changes. If you have a qualifying life event, you must make any related benefit changes on UKG (formerly known as UltiPro) within 30 days.

New child
(birth, adoption, or foster)
  • Review the company’s leave policies in the US Employee Handbook.
  • Notify your manager about the timing of your leave.
  • Review your MarketAxess benefits for programs you may want to take advantage of, such as back-up child care or a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
  • Get a Social Security number for your new child, if an application has not yet been submitted.
  • Add your new child to your benefits coverage and make any other applicable benefit changes within 30 days of birth or adoption or placement in your home. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • Consider updating your life insurance beneficiary information by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Contacts).
  • Consider updating your retirement plan beneficiary information.
  • Change your tax withholdings by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Income Tax). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.
  • Notify your manager of your return to work and discuss flexible working arrangements. To see your time off, log in to OKTA to access UKG and select Myself > Workforce Management.
  • Complete any required return to work forms.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as adding a new child to your family, you have 30 days to make benefits changes related to your event. To adjust your benefits coverage, log in to OKTA to access UKG.

Getting Married
(or new domestic partnership)
  • Update your personal information on file with MarketAxess, if necessary. Log in to OKTA to access UKG and select Myself > Personal.
  • If you’re changing your name, get a new Social Security card.
  • Order new business cards and a new corporate credit card, if necessary. Contact Joyce Che for a new card.
  • Change or update your benefits coverage within 30 days. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • Update your life insurance beneficiary information by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Contacts)
  • Update your retirement plan beneficiary information.
  • Change your tax withholdings by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Income Tax). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.
  • Update your direct deposit, if necessary, by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Direct Deposit). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.

Getting divorced
(or legally separated/ending a partnership)
  • Update your personal information on file with MarketAxess, if necessary. Log in to OKTA to access UKG and select Myself > Personal.
  • If you’re changing your name, get a new Social Security card.

Death in the family
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Review the company’s bereavement policy. Enter your bereavement days by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Workforce Management).
  • Update your benefits coverage, if necessary, within 30 days. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • Contact the Social Security Administration to end benefits received by the deceased (if disabled or retired) and to determine if benefits are available to the surviving spouse and dependent children.
  • Submit life insurance claims if you are the beneficiary.
  • Update your life insurance beneficiary information by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Contacts).
  • Update your retirement plan beneficiary, if necessary.
  • Update your tax withholdings by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Income Tax). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.
  • Update your direct deposit, if necessary, by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Direct Deposit). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as a death in the family, you have 30 days to make benefits changes related to your event. To adjust your benefits coverage, log in to OKTA to access UKG.

Change in work status
(e.g., to part-time or full-time)
  • Contact the HR Team for answers to questions you may have about your change in work status.
  • Adjust your benefits coverage, if your eligibility for benefits has changed, within 30 days of your work status change. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as a change in work status, you have 30 days to make benefits changes related to your event. To adjust your benefits coverage, log in to OKTA to access UKG.

Loss or gain of benefit coverage
(you or a dependent)
  • Enroll in MarketAxess benefits coverage, if necessary, within 30 days of the loss of other benefits coverage. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as gaining or losing benefits coverage, you have 30 days to make benefits changes related to your event. To adjust your benefits coverage, log in to OKTA to access UKG.

Moving
  • Update your personal information on file with MarketAxess. Log in to OKTA to access UKG and select Myself > Personal.
  • Change your benefits, if necessary due to living in a different coverage area, within 30 days of your move. To make changes, log in to OKTA to access UKG.
  • If enrolled in medical coverage through the Company, visit the United Healthcare website to find health care providers in your new location.
  • Update your corporate credit card billing address, if necessary.
  • Update your state tax withholding information by logging in to OKTA to access UKG (select Myself > Pay > Income Tax). If you have any questions, email payroll@marketaxess.com.

This may be a qualified life event, if you are moving to or from a location where different medical plans are available. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as moving your residence, you have 30 days to make benefits changes related to your event. To adjust your benefits coverage, log in to OKTA to access UKG.

Leaving the company
  • Notify your manager.
  • Return all company property.
  • Make decisions about your ongoing benefits coverage. You can expect to receive COBRA information mailed to you at home after your benefits coverage ends.
  • Convert your supplemental life insurance to an individual policy, if desired.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Determine eligibility for unused vacation pay.
  • Contact your retirement plan administrator to learn about your options.
  • You may be eligible for unemployment benefits. Unemployment Insurance is temporary income for eligible workers who are out of work through no fault of their own. It provides them a weekly benefit while they look for work. If you become unemployed and want to apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits, apply online at www.labor.ny.gov or call (888) 209-8124. You will need details about your employment for the last 18 months: Employer names, addresses, and phone numbers; Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) for each employer (MarketAxess Corp FEIN is 95-4649492 and Pragma LLC is 20-2305376 ); and Your total gross earnings (before any deductions) for each employer.

This is a qualified life event. After you’ve left the company and are no longer eligible for MarketAxess benefits, you are eligible to enroll in other coverage, such as COBRA coverage or, if applicable, your spouse’s benefits. Ask your spouse’s employer for their enrollment process and deadline.

Retirement

This is a qualified life event. After you’ve retired, you may be eligible for Medicare and/or Social Security benefits. Learn more on the Social Security website. You may also have the option of enrolling in COBRA coverage or, if applicable, your spouse’s benefits. Ask your spouse’s employer for their enrollment process and deadline.

Serious illness

This is not a qualified life event. You are not able to change your benefits coverage due to this event.

Leave of absence
  • Review the Company's sick and disability leave policies.
  • Notify your manager of your expected leave.
  • Reach out to HRTeam@marketaxess.com for the paperwork and information you will need.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Call the number on your UHC member ID card if you have any questions about your health benefits. You’ll reach a UHC advocate who will provide personalized assistance and answer your questions.

This is not a qualified life event. You are not able to change your benefits coverage due to this event.

Injury at work
  • Notify your manager immediately.
  • Reach out to HRTeam@marketaxess.com for information and next steps.
  • Call the number on your UHC member ID card if you have any questions about your health benefits. You’ll reach a UHC advocate who will provide personalized assistance and answer your questions.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
